Just like any successful business, Wharton-Smith needs people with diverse sets of skills to operate productively. Those skills span many disciplines across our corporate services teams. From accounting and administration to information management, marketing and human resources, corporate services are the underlying thread that keeps our projects moving forward.
Our IT team is responsible for supporting the equipment and software technology for our corporate and satellite offices and our jobsites. These professionals manage our “support” line 24 hours a day, research and implement the latest software solutions for our industry, maintain an inventory of all IT equipment, and provide prompt and effective solutions for Wharton-Smith employees.
From start up to close out, our accounting specialists handle all of the financial transactions for our projects. The department also reaches out to evaluate the latest in accounting software technology to ensure our processes are fast, efficient, and reliable.
Our administrative staff is responsible for supporting the project engineers, project managers and superintendents. From creating contracts and managing documents, to serving as liaisons with our subcontractors and suppliers, they possess the construction knowledge and software skills to guarantee a smooth running project.
The human resources team works to continually to keep each of our offices and project sites staffed with knowledgeable, skilled, and motivated employees; administers comprehensive and progressive benefits programs, tracks and updates employee compensation to remain competitive, keeps employees apprised of current events and critical information, responds to employee inquiries, and designs and implements policies and procedures to ensure alignment between daily practices and company values.
Essential duties for marketing professionals include producing proposals, qualifications, awards submittals, and presentation materials, as well as supporting our business development efforts and enforcing corporate branding standards.
