Sanford, FL – September 28, 2016 – Wharton-Smith, Inc., one of Central Florida’s largest locally based general contractors, was recently selected as the Construction Manager for the Orange County Public Schools’ Corner Lake Middle School Comprehensive project. Located off of Chuluota Road in Orlando, the middle school campus will undergo extensive renovations and remodeling totaling approximately 168,000 square feet to existing classrooms, administration, gymnasium, kitchen/dining, art/music and the media center. The project also includes resurfacing of the track and field areas, remodeling of the PE office, locker rooms, outdoor agricultural areas, and storage.
Phased construction on the $12 million project is expected to begin in June 2017. The comprehensive project is part of Orange County Public Schools’ ongoing initiative to provide improved facilities throughout the district. C.T. Hsu + Associates is the architect for the project.
