Sean White was named Director of Preconstruction Services, Water in February 2016 after serving as Senior Project Manager and later as a Project Executive. Sean has more than 30 years of experience in engineering and construction.
Sean’s responsibilities include oversight for all Water estimating for Wharton-Smith. He is involved with all Water projects from hard bidding to CMAR and Design-Build. His department typically estimates more than $1 billion of work per year throughout the southeastern United States. This volume of estimating, plus his many years of experience in the operations side of the business, provides the foundation for the many conceptual estimates and value engineering reviews that his department provides. Throughout his tenure, Sean has established strong working relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members, helping Wharton-Smith achieve its vision — to be the Construction Group of Choice.
Sean joined Wharton-Smith as a Project Manager in 2003, was promoted to Senior Project Manager in 2007, and was promoted to Project Executive in 2014. Before joining Wharton-Smith, Sean worked for Adams Robinson Enterprises in Altamonte Springs as a Project Manager building water and wastewater treatment plants. Sean also worked as a tradesman in the residential building industry prior to getting his engineering degree.
In addition to his professional experience, Sean graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer as well as a certified General Contractor in the state of Florida.
Sean believes in the core values of family, health, and happiness. He loves to travel with his family and experience new things through the eyes of his children. He has been a board member of the Central Florida chapter of the AGC as well.
Sean lives in Deltona, Florida, with his wife and his two children.
