Sanford, FL – July 21, 2017 – Wharton-Smith, Inc., one of Central Florida’s largest locally based general contractors, joined with Osceola County District 2 Commissioner Viviana Janer, Fire Chief Robert Sorenson, and Osceola County staff on July 12 to break ground on the County’s new Fire Station 62.

Located in the Buenaventura Lakes community, the new station will be based off of the C.T. Hsu + Associates prototype used on the Osceola County Fire Rescue & EMS Station 64, also constructed by Wharton-Smith.  The prototype consists of a four-bay station housing up to 11 firefighters with training facilities, dormitory spaces, a kitchen, fitness room, storage and community room used for small group meetings.

Construction on the new station is expected to be completed by March 2018.
