On March 18, Paul Fulks, Project Executive, Commercial, spoke to the Civil Engineering students at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. This was originally scheduled as a class presentation, but when all classes went online due to COVID-19, Paul worked with the university to move to a video conferencing format.

Paul offered an overview of all the things a commercial construction project may require from a project engineer. He showed them examples of where strong construction engineering fills the gaps and fixes the conflicts in the contract documents. He also showed examples of how the competence and efficiency of the project engineer has a direct link to the success of a project.

In closing, Paul challenged the students to find their passion in life, saying, “If we live according to our passion and operate true to core beliefs, we will never feel like we work a day in our life.”
